Meaning of Inert
What is Inert:
The term inert identifies everything that lacks mobility or life. For example: the authorities found an inert body on the road. The word inert is of Latin origin iners which means lifeless, inactive.
The word inert can be used in different contexts always with the allusion that something or someone is in a state of rest or in other words that it does not have movement, life or does not react to a stimulus, being necessary an external force to change state .
As has been said previously, inert beings do not have life as is the case with cars, books, mountains, rivers, being the opposite of living beings that are born, grow and reproduce, being formed by cells that allow them to carry out vital functions such as food, reproduction, for example: bacteria, fungi, etc.
In medicine and pharmacology, reference is made to inert remedies such as the placebo, which is a substance that lacks therapeutic action but still produces positive effects on the patient, generally this manages to work because of the conviction that the individual has of the effectiveness of medicine.

On the other hand, figuratively speaking, an individual is identified as inert when he does not have the will to carry out any type of activity that involves action or movement to achieve a goal. For example: after her marriage, my cousin was inert before life.

Inert in chemistry
In chemistry, the term inert describes something that does not react chemically, as is the case with inert gases, also known as noble gases, which have very low reactivity and for this type of reactions a large amount of energy is needed in the form of heat, pressure or radiation, with the help of catalysts.
Noble gases are colorless, odorless, tasteless and non-flammable under normal conditions, they are: helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe) and the radioactive radon (Rn) .
Inert wastes are those that do not undergo significant physical, chemical or biological changes, their toxicity does not negatively affect the environment or public health. Some of the inert waste is construction and demolition debris, as well as others of industrial origin classified as non-hazardous.
Inert matter is that which is immobile, still and unable to change place, it can be classified as natural such as water, air, wind, rocks, plastics (PVC), aluminum, or artificial man-made such as for example chairs, tables, houses, among others.
